An author returns to his hometown of Jerusalem’s Lot to find inspiration for his next book, only to find that the townspeople are being attacked by a bloodthirsty vampire. Writer Gary Dauberman told Den of Geek in June 2019 that his goal with the new version of Salem’s Lot is to make vampires scary again. Interview with the Vampire to Twilight to The Vampire Diaries.. When Ben is reading an old newspaper on microfilm in the library, the headline reads “Local Drunk Victims”. The paper was allegedly printed in 1956, at a time when the term “DUI” was not spoken.

First of all, I have to say that even if Stephen King’s adaptation is weak, at least it is watchable. That’s a testament to King’s work. This movie is lucky to be a King movie.
But every aspect of the story’s development is abandoned
At the beginning of the movie I was very excited, I liked everything, there was an atmosphere of unrest and it was very royal. Pretty quickly we get to the point where people have just disappeared from the city. It happens so fast and the rest of the people just "know" vampires are the cause. They also seem to immediately know who the main vampire is and it doesn’t make sense. I’ve seen some incredibly bad horror movies in my life and this isn’t bad, it’s just too fast.
No blood either
In the moving vampire. Shame. If it was an 8-10 episode miniseries it would work. The elements are there. The cast is there.

I have to appreciate that I stuck to the source material, it shows that the creators understood what they were working with. The final series of “What We Do in the Shadows”; is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres of the month.
