Plot
A family is invited to spend an entire weekend in a lonely house in the countryside, but as the weekend progresses, they realize that the family who invited them has a dark side. Blumhouse Productions has been a driving force in the horror genre since Paranormal Activity became a worldwide sensation in 2007. The story is inspired by the experiences of Christian Tafdrup, director of the Danish original Speak No Evil (2022), who befriended a Dutch couple while on vacation with his wife in Tuscany. Although the Dutch were a bit awkward with people, both couples got along very well, and upon returning home, Tafdrup received an invitation from the Dutch family to come to the Netherlands. He considered it for a moment, but decided that it would feel weird to stay with people he didn’t really know.
Featuring Nestali u akciji (1984)
his storyline for the film came about when he gave vent to his darkest fantasies about what could have happened if he had accepted (while claiming that the original Dutch couple never gave off bad vibes). In this remake, the nationalities of the two families were changed to American and British.. In the bathroom, when he washes his eye, he has a subconjunctival hemorrhage in his left eye, in the next scene his eyes are perfectly clear.. The crucial difference?
Finally a win for Blumhouse after a year of mediocre flicks and utter duds. Who would have thought that the studio’s salvation would be an American remake of a film that’s barely two years old – and already 80% in English? But that’s just how it is. This version is infinitely better, less frustrating and, dare I say it, actually satisfying. James McAvoy – what a powerhouse.
The biggest improvement?
Honestly, just put this guy in every horror movie from now on, especially if he’s the villain. He’s so good at it you can almost hear him whispering, “Watch me steal every damn scene.” And of course he does. Every. Time. Speak No Evil is, in my opinion, by far one of the best horror movies of the year.

Characters who really deserve to have your fingers crossed for them. OK, they’re a little dumb for the first third, but at least they get smarter before you give up all hope except for one particular person. Blumhouse, take a bow – you finally got something right! The final season of What We Do in the Shadows is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
